Jason got fairly good grades. He was a smart kid. And he had to maintain good grades to stay on the basketball team. But that didn't mean he liked school. In fact, it was one of the reasons why he couldn't wait until graduation. It was senior year for him, and he was ready to wrap this shit up. Move on to play college ball at Hilo University. Sure, he was excited for prom and any other senior year activities. But basketball was JD's life. He definitely enjoyed basketball more than anything else. Well, except for sex. That was top. But other than that, basketball was number one. He got up nice and early like he always did and hoped in the shower. Once he got out, he slipped on the clothes he already had laid out on his bed. After that was his hair, teeth, shoes, bag, and he was out. He hoped in his car and headed to school. Jason was always a little bit of a speed demon, but he never was when he was going to school. He wasn't in a rush to get there.
As soon as he walked through the front entrance, he was greeted by jocks. He gave them a nod and a small smile. He wasn't really a people person. Homeroom hadn't begun yet, so everyone was just roaming. But that only lasted about thirty seconds, then the bell rang. JD walked up the stairs to his locker. He grabbed some notebooks and some books that he needed for the first three periods. He slammed his locker shut, then walked into homeroom. One of his close friends was in his homeroom, so they chatted all through homeroom until the bell rang. That was when they parted since they didn't have the same class. Jason had to go downstairs through the huge crowd of students to get to his class. He was about five steps from the doorway when the bell rang. The walked in and took his seat. Mr. Kingston, your late. Jason's history teacher squawked. He rolled his eyes. "Barely. I was right outside the doorway." He said. You have a detention with me this afternoon." JD glared at her. "That's such bullshit." He said, sitting back. Watch your mouth. Unless you want another one. Jason wanted to flip his desk. This detention wasn't necessary.
He was relieved when lunch came around. He could sit with all his friends and complain about how he got a detention first period. He was glad basketball season hadn't started. Otherwise he would have had to miss practice. Then he would be in trouble. Lunch was nothing special. It was the same as usual. Jason was glad when lunch was over, because the day was already half way over. He was pretty anxious for this day to be over. He was going to be hanging out with Kacey after school. They always hung out, being best friends and all, but today he was excited to hang out with her. He was finally beginning to admit to himself he had feelings for her. It was awkward for JD, but at the same time he felt like an idiot for trying to deny it to his own self. Well, the rest of the day did go by fast, just as he had planned. Next thing Jason knew, he was throwing all his books and notebooks into his locker and heading downstairs to leave.
Just then, Jason remembered. Detention. Damn. He was annoyed all over again about it. It was only a half an hour long, but him and Kacey were hanging out right after school. He texted Kacey saying hey. i'll be a little late today. ms.robinson gave me a dumb ass detention. i'll call you wen im out. He turned around as he stared at his phone. As soon as it said it sent the message, he tucked it into his pocket. Jason began to walk towards Ms. Robinson's room. He hated this teacher, she was such a bitch. This detention was proof. His phone began to vibrate and he fished it out of his pocket and read the text. Kacey understood. He smiled a little and texted as he walked. He pressed the send button and then bumped shoulders with someone. JD slipped his phone in his pocket and looked at the person he had just practically shoved. "Oh shit, sorry. I wasn't paying attention." He said.
