- Madeline is conceived. Jacqueline Harrison received the news at a tender age of fifteen - she was pregnant. It was a huge scandal at the time, seeing as her baby's father was six years her senior. However, both families being ridiculously wealthy, they were able to pay off the tabloids and paparazzi. Jacqueline's parents were beyond ecstatic to find their daughter carrying the child of an equally rich and well-known gentleman, William Carrington. After Madeline Isabella Carrington was born, the two engaged in a huge wedding, all expenses paid by their parents. However, it was not William Carrington who Jacqueline was truly in love with. Her heart belonged to a younger man who was less well off than her now-husband. Because of his lower class status, she knew her parents would never accept him. And so she married Will with a closed mouth and a smile on her face.
- Madeline moves from Europe to the United States. When she was but four years old, Maddie's father purchased a "vacation house" in Hawaii. After uprooting from London and spending a year in Hilo, her parents decided it would be their new permanent home. Madeline reluctantly accepted it.
- Madeline starts school. From kindergarten to eighth grade, Madeline was enrolled in a private co-ed school. Despite its prestigous reputation, it was throughout the years she spent at this school where Maddie picked up her worst habits: drinking, partying, smoking, and sleeping around.
- Madeline's parents start fighting. When Madeline was about thirteen years old, her parents began to fight an awful amount. Although they never truly loved each other - infact, they could barely stand each other - they had always been good at keeping all their bitter emotions inside. However, during Maddie's seventh grade year of school, their outbreaks of fights became constant. Maddie didn't know why.
- Madeline's partying becomes more intense. It was during this same year that Madeline began attending more and more high school parties with her private school friends. Because of all the time her parents spent arguing with one another, very little time was spent paying attention to their daughter. As a result, Maddie found it very easy to sneak out of her house and even get away with coming home drunk.
- Madeline catches her mother in an affair. In eighth grade, Maddie skipped out on school early and came directly home. Upon walking through her front door, she found her mother and a man who most certainly was not her father tangled in blankets on the couch. Later, after a talk with her mother, she learned the man was Cooper Jensen, the lower class man her mother had always loved. And, abiding by her strict word, Maddie said nothing of what she had seen.
- Madeline gets alcohol poisoning. Towards the end of her eighth grade year, Maddie went to yet another party with her friends held by older kids. After a few drinking games and a few shots just for the hell of it, Maddie was left regurgitating her insides and passing out in the middle of the floor. Hours later, she woke up in the hospital with no friends by her side, recovering from alcohol poisoning.
- Madeline's parents' fighting intensifies. During the summer before Maddie's ninth grade year, her father found out about the affair her mother had been having. Their fighting became worse, even physical, to the point where they found themselves pushing and slapping each other. Maddie would stay locked in her room upstairs while objects flew around below her.
- Madeline discovers singing. During these times Maddie had been stuck in her room, she kept herself preoccupied by playing music and singing along. Not only did she have a real knack for it, but it completely soothed her and took her to a more peaceful state of mind. It was the first real talent she found within herself, and so it became a full time hobby.
- Madeline starts public school. As a way of revenge on her mother, Maddie's father decided to cut Jacqueline off his income completely. He spent so very little time at home that he was barely considered part of the family anymore. Because of the dramatic decrease in money Jacqueline now had to spend, she had to enroll Maddie into public school. However, Maddie didn't care much. She figured she wouldn't be missing out on a lot, seeing as she hadn't spoken to her private school friends since they ditched out on her at the hospital.
- Madeline fell in love for the first time. At the tender age of fifteen, Maddie started her first real relationship with a boy two years her senior. This relationship lasted until her junior year of high school.
- Madeline has her heart broken. Upon finding out her boyfriend had slept with another girl, Maddie had no other choice but to leave him. At only seventeen years old, she was experiencing the worst emotional pain she had yet to feel. She spent practically a month doing nothing but crying.
- Madeline yet again begins to sleep around. After having her heart practically torn from her chest, Maddie refused to trust another boy again. Instead, she switched roles and became the heartbreaker. She began using boys for purely her own needs and pleasure, disregarding completely how it would affect them in the long run. She became pretty well known for being a heartbreaker, and she wasn't ashamed at this whatsoever.
- Madeline graduates high school.
- Madeline enters the University. Maddie is currently majoring in massage therapy, aspiring to become a masseuse. However, her real dream is to make it big in the music industry. [/ul]

"That was a joke, right?" Skylar practically gasped, mouth gaping slightly as he stared at her from across the table. "It had to have been. Because it seriously turns me on a little when I see you do that." He laughed gently after he spoke, though his tone was pretty serious, because he really did mean what he had said. There were many things Skylar loved about Norah, but whenever she bit her lip like that, oh, there was something about it that drove his hormones wild. He was odd in the sense of things like that. The littlest actions could really set him off. As much as he'd love to act on his feelings - and as much as his body would love it - he was becoming pretty good at restraining himself. He had, after all, been working on this throughout the whole time frame of their friendship.
Hearing her comment about the mirror, he laughed rather loudly. "For some reason I could picture that," He told her, a genuine, toothy grin crawling across his lips as he spoke. "And you know what? It still has the same effect on me. Quite the opposite of silly."
Skylar could think up a million adjectives to describe that girl, but silly (in a ridiculous way, that is) wasn't one of them. And, for some reason, he felt almost proud of himself for seeing something in her that she didn't see in herself, even if it was only something as little as viewing the way she bit her lip as sexy over silly. It made him feel as if said action was performed just for him, so he alone could admire all the beauty in something so simple. Something, although simple, he just couldn't get enough of.
"Traumatized?" Skylar asked in horror. He shook his head left and right vigorously. "What's the fun in being traumatized? Besides being traumatized with you, of course. But I think we'd both be a lot better off if you weren't in a hospital bed, and I wouldn't have to see you in a hospital bed. So, for the sake of both us, I'll really work on not giving you any ulcers or heart palpitations. My own little heart wouldn't be able to bear it." He smiled faintly as he spoke the last sentence, his eyes trying to connect their gazes once more.
As he told her his story of his "tortured" childhood, her facial expressions didn't cease to amuse him. He waved his hand again as if he were swatting away some pesty gnat. "Please, dear, don't look so horrified," He laughed quietly. "No long term damage at all. I'd say I'm pretty normal. As normal as normal gets. Besides the fact that the sight of a Barbie makes me feel a tad queasy." His tone was very playful towards the end, but, as ridiculous as it sounded, he was hardly joking. He wasn't messed up, so to speak, and he was no longer afraid of his head popping off at any given moment. But just seeing the damned plastic doll brought back terrible memories of him regurgitating his insides on a daily basis.
"No, never told a single soul, besides you now. It's kind of embarrassing, don't you think?" He sighed rather loudly, closing his eyes for a moment. "Luckily, I'm not scared of anything anymore," He chuckled, looking rather proud of himself. "But of course, being the manly man that I am, what else could you expect?" The sarcasm dripping in his voice was very obvious now, despite the pride still glistening in his eyes. After listening to her proposition, his head bounced up and down and his face fell very serious. "Definitely. Top secret, between me and you only. That means you can't tell anyone either." He extended his hand across the table in order for to shake hers, as if that would make their deal official.
Skylar couldn't help the huge smirk that crossed his face as she performed her imitation of arrogance. "You're right," He said slowly, as if it was a realization he was just now making. "I will absolutely care. And I will absolutely fall into a raging fit of turmoil. And you don't want to see that - trust me - so I highly suggest you never, ever deprive me of anything that beautiful ever again, do you understand?" His tone was strict like a parent scolding a child, but the amused smirk never once left his face the whole time he spoke. He laughed once more as he watched her blink more times than necessary, obviously indicating that she wasn't too big on rolling her eyes. Skylar adored how, every time he saw her, Norah seemed so down to earth. Within the year that he had been living in New York, he found out that this wasn't too common of a trait in many girls around the area. He held himself as rather lucky to have been sitting across from one of the most chill and genuine girls he'd ever come across in his life.
"See, that's pretty funny," He began talking again, this time, however, in a much softer voice, as if he were telling her something he wanted her alone to hear. That wasn't the case, though, because what he was about to say was something the boy wouldn't mind shouting off rooftop to rooftop. Prolonging the silence between them, as if to build up the suspense, he grinned widely at her, folding his hands on the top of the marble table. "Because you bring out the best in me."
Never had a more honest statement found its way past his lips. Whenever Skylar was around Norah, he was a completely new person. He listened to what she had to say and he enjoyed it. He walked and talked more slowly, just as an attempt to elongate the time he spent with her. When he spoke sweetly to her, it wasn't all part of a plan to get into her pants. It was to see her smile, a smile that blew him away every time. When Skylar had said he wasn't afraid of anything anymore, he had obviously left out the way Norah made him feel. Yes, it scared him, to a pretty large degree. He had never felt the need to be so close to someone - physically and emotionally - in his entire life. How could anyone not be frightened by such a new and intense emotion? It was one huge whirlwind of fear, happiness, nervousness, and excitement. When people described relationships as a rollercoaster, well damn, they weren't joking.
Sky's eyes dropped to the tongue now sticking directly out of Norah's mouth. He furrowed his brows and smiled at the same time, looking back up to her eyes. "Now, was that necessary?" He laughed gently, shaking his head. "It's new to me, mind you. If I knew it had such an effect on you, trust me, I would have been using it a while ago." This time, he stuck his tongue out at her, in a teasing, mimicking kind of way.
"Oh, do I?" His tone sounded dangerous, as if he were some sort of "bad boy". Which, by the standards of some, he just might have been. But honestly, Skylar loved to feed her ego, as she had put it. It gave him a sense of accomplishment. If she was feeling good about herself all thanks to him, how was he not supposed to feel good, as well? It was like a chain reaction, one that Skylar didn't plan to put to an end any time soon.[/ul]
