It is so much hotter in Hawaii than it is in New York. So hot, that the beach isn't even enough to cool you down. To keep a consistent coolness, you have to sit in the water up to your shoulders the whole day. Harlowe wasn't doing this though. She didn't feel like having sand in her every crevice from sitting in the ocean. Instead, she laid on her blanket in the hot sun. Her sunglasses were off and she was laying on her back, improving her already tanned body. Of course she had an umbrella with her when she didn't feel like tanning anymore. It was always important to have some form of shade to keep your skin from wrinkling into a raisin.
Grabbing the umbrella, she set it up and was isntantly cool under the shade. She put her sunglasses back on and looked around the beach. What a beautiful place to be. She smiled and leaned back on her elbows. Hunger. Was there any concession stands around? She spotted one and squinted her eyes to spot the menu. Looks like she was going to have to get up to find out what they were selling. Harlowe slipped on her flip flops and walked over to the stand. Veggie burgers, veggie burgers, veggie burgers? No. Anything for a vegetarian? No. Great. Looks like she was going to have to suffer for the time being.
Returning to her blanket, she slipped off her flip-flops and headed for the water. It felt nice on her feet. Refreshing but also warm. She submerged herself up to her chest, put her hair up into a messy bun and then sank down to swim around. This was paradise for her at the moment. She did wish she was in New York and shopping. But for the now the beach would do.
