Zachary Blythe was just finishing up another day at the garage. Currently it was a Saturday evening and most people his age would be off relaxing and not even thinking about work. They'd be hanging with friends or depending on the person maybe trying to make plans to hit a club tonight. Zac on the other hand was still at work. Right now he was determined to get the corvette that had been brought in earlier fixed before he headed home. This was normal for Zac. If he started to do something then he had this need to finish it. If he didn't he'd end up thinking about it for the rest of the day or night depending on what time. Sometimes it'd stay on his mind until he finished the task. He didn't understand why he was like that but he was, there was nothing he could do about it. Besides, he felt that, that determination was good. It had been helpful in high school because even though he had hated the concept of it all and the work it made him get things done. He didn't procrastinate. He was sure that if he did the procrastination would just bug him even more. Because of this he'd normally have free time. He'd get a job done right away instead of leaving it to the last minute which was how some people dealt with things.
The young man's eyes scanned the different parts under the hood, he was pretty sure that the problem had to do with the engine although at this very second he wasn't quite sure how he was suppose to fix the problem. Zachary began to check certain parts and about twenty minutes later he sat in the drivers seat. He put the key into the ignition and then turned it forward, everything started up, the engine included. It was clear that Zac had completed his job for the night. The corvette appeared to be working again. Shutting it off he took the keys and got back out. Walking into his small office he grabbed a piece of paper and began to write a message on it. The message was for his boss, it basically explained what the problem had been in the first place and that the car was now fixed and the owner would be able to come pick it up as soon as they wanted to. Zac stuck that note into his boss's office and then decided that since no one else was around he should just lock up the place for the week end. There were little specks of grease on his shirt but he didn't care. He cared more about the grease on his hands, he tried to wipe it off with an old rag but it wasn't working. It never worked. The grease and dirt came along with this job. It'd get stuck in the creases of his hands and on his clothing.
Once he was finished locking up for the night he hopped into his own car and began to drive away. Zachary wasn't sure where he should go. Should he go home? Should he go get a late supper somewhere, he was rather hungry. That was a given though. Zac had a tendency to be hungry most of the time. He could eat food any time of the day and surprisingly he never gained a lot of weight. He was thin and had always been that way. He didn't complain though considering by the amount of food that he could eat you'd think he'd be the size of a horse. In a matter of minutes Zac decided where he should go. He decided to head to one of his best friends house. Tanner Turner. Tanner had been a friend of his back when they had both lived in California and now that they lived here in Hawaii things had just continued to get better in their friendship. They could joke around and do basically anything together. It was always a good time. Plus Zac usually would raid Tanner's fridge which was what he planned on doing once he arrived. The sun was beginning to set when Zac finally arrived. He saw his friend's car so he knew that the young man would be home. Parking his car in the drive way he got out and jogged up to the front steps and then simply walked inside. He couldn't be bothered to knock on the door or ring the doorbell. That's not how the two friends worked. Quickly making his way to the kitchen Zac made his presence known, "Yo! Tan, where are you?" He called that out asking the question since right now he didn't know where Tanner was and he couldn't be bothered to go look because his head was now looking in the refrigerator as his search for food had begun.

WHY SHOULD I BE SAD? from the stupid freakin' things - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - on a saturday evening, most young adults would be getting ready to hit the town with their friends for a night to remember. or a night not to remember, depending on how much they drank. already, tanner had heard overly loud giggles from girls walking by his house. yes he'd peered through his window to see what the whole ruckus was about, even though it just turned out to be girls going out in the direction of the town to start their night. and they looked quite ravishing from his perspective, although one or two looked slightly degrading to the female species. very pretty looking girls, but he wasn't into the whole 'less is more' concept. their ass was nearly on show the dress was that short. he rolled his eyes, before walking away from the curtain and planting himself down on the sofa. that was right. tanner was not going to be joining those ladies or anyone in fact to go to town. it sounded a little crazy, but this boy liked to kick back on a saturday evening in his house after a long day's work. you see, he worked at the surf shop down at the beach. at this time of th year it was busiest. school was almost back and all the students wanted to finish their summer with a bang. on top of that, there were loads of tourists too. but at the same time he loved his job. he got to meet new faces, have a chat with old ones and chat up a girl or two. he was a charmer, he couldn't help it. but after a long ten hour shift today, he was more than happy to just chill out at home.
tanner was sprawled out on his sofa, his eyes drifting closed gardually and softly. he was exhausted. he wanted to stay awake but there was nothing to help him do so. whatever was on the television was boring him half to death let alone to sleep. he scratched his stomach absent mindedly, before bringing his hand to rest under his head. he didn't want to sleep, but he did at the same time. maybe there was no harm in sleeping. he smiled tiredly to himself, letting out a sigh and letting his eyes close. just as he began to allow himself to fall asleep, he thought he heard the door opening. his eyes shot open and he groaned inwardly. great, now he was hearing things. he shuffled himself to lay on his back, putting his hands over his face. ”yo! tan, where are you?” the voice rang through his ears, familiarity engulfing his mind. within seconds he put the voice to a face and that face to a name. none other than zac bythe, his best friend. it really had been some twist of fate of them being best friends when they were younger in california, then spent years apart before meeting again in hilo. certainly was a one in a million chance, but tanner wasnt complaining. a smile spread across his face as he ran his two hands through his brown hair. ”in here, man!” he said loudly in reply, moving from his relaxing lying position to a sitting position. ”zac dude. are you eating all my food again?” he asked, before standing up and walking to the kitchen. he didn't bother putting his shirt back on; it was so humid this time of year and this house didn't help. even with all the windows open, it didn't help as muchas the air conditioning would. but it decided it'd break the hottest time of year.
tanner patted his best friend on the back as he walked into the kitchen, before hoisting himself up to sit on the counter. ”alright man? hard day at work?” he inquired casually, noticing the grease stains on his clothes and his hands. a yawn escaped from his mouth after his words. he blinked a couple of times, his eyes still drooping and just waking up. well at least he'd found that something that was going to keep him awake. or that someone for that matter. he lazily scratched his stomach, before stretching his arms up into the air. ”thanks for dropping over, i was literally falling asleep on the couch there,” he stated with a smile. he reached over to the fridge and pulled out a bottle of beer. he popped the cap off, taking a swig. he did usually have a beer or two during the night. he wasn't an alcoholic, he just enjoyed the taste of beer during the evening. he wouldn't get pissed or anything; one or two drinks wouldn't do that to him. he put the bottle down beside him, leaning over and back towards the window, putting his palm on it before pushing it out as far as possible. ”sorry about the heat, the air conditioners bust again,” he explained the heat of the house and the reason why he was walking around topless. well actually he walked around topless majority of the time during summer, it was nearly too hot to wear all his attire most of the time. oh well. it wasn't like zac would care about it anyway, they were guys; practically brothers. After yelling for his friend Zac continued to look through the fridge. He was leaning forward into it, if someone came out of no where they could probably push him and he'd fall right inside. That wouldn't turn out well though as he'd most likely end up with smashing one of the shelves and getting some type of food on himself. With his luck it would've been something like butter. It'd be a mess. Anyway, he wasn't sure what he'd end up eating this time. He spotted the white milk, that was something Zac supplied or forced Tanner to get. White milk was the beverage that Zac drank the most. He went through so much milk at home his friends had told him before that perhaps it'd be a smart idea for him to get a cow. They joked around saying that it'd be easier for him and he wouldn't have to spend so much money when going to the grocery store to pick up more milk. Most of his friends enjoy teasing him and cracking jokes, especially Lucas. Luke was Zac's other best friend. The two met back when Zac had first moved to Hawaii and they had hit it off right away. He was glad that he had two awesome friends like those two. Sure he didn't mind hanging out with his girl friends but it was nice to be able to hang out with the guys.
Picking up the jug of milk he took the cap off of it and brought the bottle up to his lips and took a long drink. Hawaii was always warm and since it was summer the heat seemed even more intense however right now if it was even possible, Zac didn't know but he was beginning to think that it was warmer in this house. It was like a heat wave outside, he wasn't sure how it could be so much hotter in here. You'd think it would be the opposite since you could have fans and air conditioning. His thoughts were interrupted because as he drank the cold liquid he heard his friend's voice break the silence. Taking the jug away from his mouth he twisted the cap back onto it and chuckled a bit to himself as Tanner made another comment. Boy they knew each other well. Tanner wasn't even in the same room as Zac and he could easily guess what was going on. "Psh, noo." He said but obviously sounded guilty so he gave up on that right away, "Okay so maybe I am but I worked through supper, I can't help myself. I need food!"
He explained as he set the milk on the counter and went back into his food search mode. What he was going to drink had been easily taken care of. The burning question now was what he should eat. The idea of making a sandwich came to mind. It would be easy but also satisfying. He grabbed the sandwich meats, some mayonnaise, cheese, basically anything he could find that would be good for this type of food. When he was just about to stand up straight again he felt a pat on the back. Turning his head he looked over at Tan who was now sitting on the counter. "It wasn't too bad, glad to be done for the weekend though" He said and then figured that Tanner had probably noticed the grease on his hand, "No need to worry about your fridge becoming full of grease. I swear, I must have washed my hands a billion times. It just won't come off. I think I'm stuck with it forever" Zac said and laughed a little as he set the food on the part of the counter that was closest to where the cupboards that contained the plates were. He got a plate and then once he found the bread he began to create his sandwich. Zachary listened to Tanner speak again while he made his sandwich. He put the mayo on and then started to add some meat and then a piece of lettuce. Some cheese too. "This heat is deadly. You need to get the AC fixed. I could probably take a look at it after if you want" Zac offered as he put the other slice of bread on top. He then lifted the sandwich up so that he could take a bite. Sure he spent most of his time fixing cars. Trying to fix the air conditioning couldn't be that hard could it? He should be able to figure out the problem.
