it had been raining for what seemed to be days now. although it had only started to rain early this morning, rebekah bennet felt like she was noah and it was day twenty seven of the forty days of rain. bex was never very good with dealing with rain. she is the type of person who enjoyed the sun and sunshine and happiness. the rain, to her, representing sadness and boredom. she had wanted to go to the beach today, her favorite place. or even the zoo. but, no. it was rainy and decided that she was protest the rain by not going outside. she had to wear jeans today. and a sweater. any day where bex didn't get to wear her normally cutesy short shorts and tank tops was not going to be a good day. hopefully, that wouldn't be the case. so, they were going to have to make their own fun. her and nate. she wasn't sure what they were going to do, but hopefully it would be better than them sitting around their houses, getting interrupted by family and not being able to just being able to hang out in silence. which is why they checked into the hotel for a few days.
they didn't come there to fuck, or anything like that, like people probably thought (and if they did, so what?). it wasn't like that. they just wanted to hang out with each other. it was bex's idea and she thought it was a good one. at this point, neither really get along with their families, so being alone in a hotel was the best option, really. bex and her father had a fight, so she used the credit card, that he pays for, to get the most expensive room in hilo's hotel. she got the penthouse suite. free bar, free room service, free big screen tv and xbox and king sized bed. best few days ever. if only it wasn't raining. then, it would be much better. but, at least she got to hang out with nate. then, everything would be good. that was the point, anyway. get away from friends and school and siblings and just hang out with each other in a stress free environment. no clubs, no booze, no essays, just the necessities. each other. getting a hotel room just to hang out with each other was probably a little rash, but that is how bex operated.
bex forked through some chinese food that they had ordered a little earlier. it was pretty cold by this point, but bex was too depressed from the rain to get up from the couch to go to the microwave. she sighed and looked over to the microwave. after a moment of sending telepathic messages to it to make it move closer to her and it not working, she gave up and looked back to the runny chow mein in the container. the fact that is was cold made her sad and she put it down, giving up on the idea that chinese food would make her day that much better. nate wasn't there right now. he had gone somewhere, for some reason and said he was going to be back soon. she missed him. they hadn't been dating for a while and she had already turned into one of those girls who, months earlier, she had made fun of for being all doe-eyed to their boyfriends. she sighed again and stared at the blank tv screen. the remote was lost. so was her hope for a good time.
